Condition Orange Tightens Screws On GA

Several NOTAMs have been issued in response to the December 21st change in National Security Alert Status to Code Orange.

NOTAM FDC 3/2030 - Suspends Ingress/Egress Test Procedures for Certain Airports in the DC ADIZ

!FDC 3/2030 FDC SPECIAL NOTICE... EFFECTIVE 0312221100 UTC (DECEMBER 22 AT 0600 LOCAL) THE INGRESS/EGRESS TEST PROCEDURES DETAILED IN FDC NOTAMS 3/0347 AND 3/0375 FOR CERTAIN AIRPORTS WITHIN THE WASHINGTON DC METROPOLITAN AREA AIR DEFENSE IDENTIFICATION ARE HEREBY SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

NOTAM FDC 3/2031 - Outlines Additional Restrictions for Operating Into CGS, VKX, W32 in the DC ADIZ Area

!FDC 3/2031 FDC PART 1 OF 2 SPECIAL NOTICE... EFFECTIVE 0312221100 UTC (DECEMBER 22 AT 0600 LOCAL) UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. NO PERSON MAY OPERATE AN AIRCRAFT TO, FROM, OR BETWEEN THE COLLEGE PARK AIRPORT (CGS), POTOMAC AIRFIELD (VKX) OR WASHINGTON EXECUTIVE/HYDE FIELD (W32), EXCEPT UNDER THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: A. IN ADDITION TO THE SECURITY PROVISIONS SPECIFIED IN SFAR94, AND ALL OTHER CURRENT NOTAMS APPLICABLE TO THESE AIRPORTS AND THE WASHINGTON DC METROPOLITAN AREA AIR DEFENSE IDENTIFICATION ZONE AND THE WASHINGTON DC METROPOLITAN AREA FLIGHT RESTRICTED ZONE, ALL PERSONS MUST COMPLY WITH THESE SUPPLEMENTAL REQUIREMENTS. 1. AIRCRAFT MUST UNDERGO SECURITY INSPECTION BY A TRANSPORTATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION INSPECTOR PRIOR TO DEPARTURE FROM THE AIRPORTS ABOVE. 2. EXCEPT AS PROVIDED FOR IN NUMBER 4 BELOW, AIRCRAFT MUST LAND AT AN IDENTIFIED GATEWAY AIRPORT FOR SECURITY INSPECTION PRIOR TO RETURNING TO THE AIRPORTS ABOVE. 3. UPON COMPLETION OF THE SECURITY INSPECTION AT THE GATEWAY AIRPORT, AIRCRAFT MUST PROCEED DIRECTLY TO THE DESTINATION AIRPORT WITH NO INTERMEDIATE STOPS. 4. IF AN AIRCRAFT DEPARTS FROM ONE OF THE AIRPORTS ABOVE, END PART 1 OF 2

RECEIVES FLIGHT FOLLOWING AND REMAINS IN CONTACT WITH ATC FOR THE DURATION OF THE FLIGHT, AND MAKES NO INTERMEDIATE STOPS, THE AIRCRAFT MAY RETURN TO THE AIRPORTS ABOVE WITHOUT FIRST LANDING AT AN IDENTIFIED GATEWAY AIRPORT. !FDC 3/2033 FDC SPECIAL NOTICE... EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY ALL WAIVERS TO FDC NOTAM 3/2126, WASHINGTON, DC METROPOLITAN AREA FLIGHT RESTRICTED ZONE (FRZ) THAT ARE IDENTIFIED BY A THREE (3) LETTER AUTHORIZATION CODE BEGINNING WITH (PIC), (CSO), (CRP), (ADO), (POA) OR (SVY) ARE HEREBY SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
