Expanding Services To Be Added Going Forward
Since 2006, when US Aviation opened their service department,
they have written up 10,000 work orders covering everything from
annual inspections, to repairs for gear up landings and burned out
tail lights. They are one of the largest Cessna repair facilities
in the south, and have become a factory authorized service center
for Mooney, Diamond, Centurion, Lycoming, most major Light Sport
Aircraft manufacturers, and are developing relationships with other
GA aircraft companies.
New additional special services will be added as a part of the
expansion of their composite shop and composite trained
technicians. They are known for 1000-hour inspections for Diamond
Aircraft partly due to their unique ability to perform bonding
checks which require specific equipment otherwise only available at
the factory. US Aviation also provides Static Discharge inspections
which are critical to composite structure aircraft. Much of the
work accomplished requires special tools and advanced training to
use and verify the accuracy of the equipment.
“The demands placed on a modern maintenance shop keep
expanding,” said Scott Severen, Director of US Aviation
Maintenance Development. “We’re fortunate to have the
experienced staff, facilities and a management team that allows us
to stay out front as a national center in adapting to new
technologies, even if their utilization is fairly rare.
That’s why we’ve also incorporated specialties like
Amsafe, Raisbeck products for King Airs and Learjets, Knots to You
and LoPresti mods. We’ve also branched into helicopters to
accommodate our new rotorcraft flight training
operations.”
