Bombardier's 200th Challenger 605 Jet Enters Service

New Owner Requested Anonymity

Bombardier’s Challenger program has reached a significant milestone with the entry-into-service of the 200th Challenger 605 business jet. The aircraft was handed over to its new owner (who wishes to remain anonymous) during a special ceremony at the Challenger facility in Dorval, Québec, in October 2012, with hundreds of proud employees in attendance.

“We are delighted to be celebrating the delivery of the 200th Challenger 605 aircraft,” said Steve Ridolfi, President, Bombardier Business Aircraft. “The Challenger 600 aircraft series was a trailblazer in business aviation and is now the largest fleet in the category worldwide with over 850 aircraft in service. The Challenger 605 jet continues this legacy, delivering the quality, reliability and comfort that our customers expect.”

The Challenger program first took flight on November 8, 1978, when the Challenger 600 aircraft lifted off from Canadair’s plant in Saint-Laurent, Québec. The Challenger 601 and Challenger 604 aircraft variants followed, and in the 34 years since, continuous development and innovation have ensured that the Challenger 605 business jet remains a market leader and a customer favorite.
