Kit Includes Two Props, Spinnners And STC, De-Ice Option
Hartzell Propeller told
ANN Tuesday it has received an STC to install a newly designed,
3-bladed propeller system on Beech 58, 58A, and G58 Barons factory
equipped with TCM IO-520 and IO-550 engines.
The 75-inch diameter 3-bladed, full feathering propellers are
highly swept providing a distinctively new appearance for the Baron
(see below). The blades feature a proprietary Hartzell blended
airfoil derived from the company's seven-time winning Reno Sport
Class air racing design.
Hartzell says the objective of its new design was to improve the
cruise performance of the Baron without sacrificing its take-off or
climb performance. As a side benefit, the props feature shorter
blades than the OEM props giving owners increased ground clearance
and lower noise.
The new Baron Top Prop kit comes complete with two propellers,
two highly-polished spinners, STC paperwork and the exclusive
Hartzell Plus Three warranty, which delivers a full three years or
1000 hours of coverage, at a list price of $24,495.
Hartzell is offering de-ice equipment as an option for most of
the airplanes that are currently equipped with an electric
propeller de-ice system, including those applications approved for
flight into known ice. The company is developing a new
anti-ice system for airplanes with alcohol systems to be available
in the future.
Hartzell claims more than 14,000 Top Prop kits sold for 60
different Beech, Cessna, Commander, Diamond, Mooney, Piper, and
Socata aircraft. It says the kits offer owners one of the easiest
and most economical methods for improving the value of their
aircraft.
