Peregrine Receives FAA Organization Designation Authorization

Engineering Approvals Streamlined

Established in 2009 and based at Denver’s Centennial Airport (APA), Peregrine is an engineering, certification, and manufacturing concern providing end-to-end FAA-approved STC solutions.

In August 2023, the Federal Aviation Administration granted Peregrine Organization Designation Authorization (ODA), thereby allowing the company to process engineering approvals on a streamlined, expedited basis.

Peregrine founder and ODA administrator David Rankin stated: “Our team has worked tirelessly to achieve this distinguished delegation, which allows for an efficient process to better serve the aerospace industry.”

In light of demonstrable certification expertise rendered in service of industry and the FAA, Peregrine, henceforth, shall be classified Organization Designation Authorization (ODA) (AIR)?834328?NM. The designation allows Peregrine to develop and approve many types of STCs for Part 23, Part 25, Part 27, and Part 29 aircraft on behalf of the FAA.

The delegation of authority will help alleviate the FAA’s perennially-heavy workload and mitigate the long lead times resultant thereof. Project completion dates will become more predictable while Peregrine’s customers continue to receive cost-effective, high-quality certification support.

In addition to STC development for avionics upgrades, Peregrine offers Parts Manufacturing Approval (PMA), components and installation kits, and the approval to manufacture parts to Technical Standard Order (TSO) standards. Additional Peregrine services include engineering design and integration, flight testing, dealer equipment sales, rapid prototyping, 3D printing, metal fabrication, and wire harness assembly.

In 2017, Peregrine signed a Partnership for Safety Plan with the FAA by which standards for successful and effective project management and certification activities with the West Certification Branch were set.

Peregrine has built its core business through collaboration-driven partner networks, continuously generating and building business and new customer referrals. The company’s broad skill-set and experience-base accommodate programs of varying scope and size, to include a diverse and growing inventory of STCs and kit designs easily adapted to clients’ specific needs.

Peregrine’s extensive quality management system and dedicated factory and field inspection department ensure the company’s STC kits parts are manufactured to exacting design and fabrication specifications and that production standards are maintained to the highest possible level.

Mr. Rankin added: “We provide engineered solutions to a wide range of certification and installation projects using an optimum mix of internal skills, trusted collaborative resources, applying over a decade of experience with the FAA and the West Certification Branch.”
