First announced last October, this White House initiative partners the FAA with local, state and tribal governments, which then partner with private sector participants to safely explore the further integration of drone operations.
“Data gathered from these pilot projects will form the basis of a new regulatory framework to safely integrate drones into our national airspace.” said Secretary Chao. Two proposed drone rules have been sent to the White House by the DOT even as the agency was unveiling the 10 winners of UAV pilot projects. One aspect of the rules would allow flight over populated areas and gatherings of people. The other would allow for tracking of unmanned aircraft in flight and remote identification of those aircraft. Once formally proposed, it could take up to a year before they are finalized and become policy. Fans of the iconic DJI Phantom drone can look forward to the release of the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0. The P4P V2.0 uses DJI’s OcuSync transmission technology for high-resolution and low-latency digital video transmission and improves the flight experience by reducing propeller noise by up to 60%. Users who utilize FPV for work or play, can directly connect the P4P V2.0 with their DJI
Goggles for an immersive FPV flying experience. The drone boasts 30 minutes of flight time, 7 km transmission range, 5-directional obstacle sensing system and 1' CMOS Sensor with 4k@60p video recording capabilities. All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne-Unmanned!!!
