Adds DUATS Capability, Fast Animated Radar
Hilton Software LLC recently released WingX 2.5 for Pocket PCs
and Pocket PC Phone Editions.
WingX 2.5 adds DUATS support, thereby streamlining the preflight
process and minimizing ground delays. Furthermore, WingX 2.5
enables pilots to view animated RADAR, lightning probability, and
satellite images quicker and easier than ever before. Hilton
Software also continues to improve its best-of-breed chart
compression and rendering engine used to display NACO charts.
"WingX 2.5 provides the tools for a pilot to calculate their
weight and balance, plan a route, view color-coded METARs and TAFs
along that route, check the animated RADAR, get a legal DUATS
weather briefing including NOTAMs, and then file a VFR or IFR
flight plan, all in a matter of minutes," said Dr. Hilton
Goldstein, company founder and CEO.
"A pilot can save and recall an almost unlimited number of
routes thereby enabling pilots to predefine routes that they fly
regularly," he adds. "We are excited to be at the forefront of
wireless technology and extending our market-leading position in
handheld weather. We are truly committed to enhancing both aviation
safety and efficiency."
WingX 2.5 is Windows Mobile 5.0 and 6.0 compatible,
VGA-optimized, and Internet and GPS-enabled. WingX 2.5 runs on
handheld Pocket PC and Pocket PC Phone Edition devices such as the
Cingular 8525, Treo 700wx, HP iPaq, Dell Axim, and Verizon
6700.
WingX 2.5 is available for download now at the FMI link below,
for $129.95.
