Airbus and CAE have
celebrated the one-thousandth pilot trained by the flight training
cooperation that the two companies first established three years
ago. The pilot in question, Captain Kamel Djouadi of Qatar Airways,
trained at Emirates-CAE Flight Training (ECFT) in Dubai, one of the
16 locations within the Airbus-CAE worldwide network of training
centres.
A ceremony to grant Captain Djouadi a special certificate was
held in conjunction with the 2005 Dubai Air Show today and attended
Captain Nagi Absi, Airbus Chief Instructor at ECFT, and Jeff
Roberts, CAE’s Group President, Civil Training and
Services.
"Our customers' confidence in us is the absolute foundation of
our business, and with the establishment of our cooperation with
CAE we are able to provide the highest quality training on the most
modern tools throughout the world,” said Captain Absi.
“This ensures we maintain the high Airbus standards and our
customers feel safe in the knowledge they are getting the best out
of their training."
“We are delighted to celebrate CAE’s ongoing
cooperation with Airbus,” said Mr. Roberts. "Our success
demonstrates that our leadership in training brings value to our
customers."
The Airbus-CAE cooperation comprises a global network of 16
training centres. Established in 2002, the cooperation operates the
largest fleet of Airbus full-flight simulators in the world.
ECFT is jointly operated by Emirates and CAE under a long-term
teaming agreement. Featuring the latest in training technology, the
centre has become a showcase for a new Airbus flight crew
transition course called Airbus Pilot Transition (APT).
