SUBJECT: Airworthiness Directive 2007-10-14
SUMMARY: We are superseding an existing airworthiness directive (AD) for the products listed above.

This AD results from mandatory continuing airworthiness information (MCAI) issued by an aviation authority of another country to identify and correct an unsafe condition on an aviation product.

The MCAI describes the unsafe condition as: Cracking has been found in the nose landing gear steering jack piston rod adjacent to the eye-end. This was caused by the application of excessive tightening torque applied to the eye-end whilst being assembled during component overhaul.

Failure of the steering jack piston during operation will result in loss of nose wheel steering, which may lead to loss of directional control during critical phases of take-off and landing.

We are issuing this AD to require actions to correct the unsafe condition on these products.
