Come June, Marysville Is The Place For "Flying Together"
The Golden West Regional Fly-in & Airshow announced Tuesday
"Flying Together" is the theme for the 2008 event, which will be
held on June 6-8 at Yuba County Airport (MYV) in Marysville,
CA.
Event organizers tell ANN that "Flying Together" is about
aviation enthusiasts from all over the West gathering to celebrate
their shared love of flight and sharing this with the public. Over
1,000 aircraft, from single seat ultralights to the latest military
jets, will flock to Yuba County for this aviation convention, which
is open to the public.
"As much as the event is about the aircraft, it's also about
friends coming together to renew acquaintances and to make new
ones," said Golden West President John Gibson.
The Golden West Regional Fly-in will be open 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
(0800-1700) all three days. Each day will feature an airshow,
forums and workshops. The Golden West Aero Mall will have exhibits
by manufacturers of the latest aircraft, avionics and pilot
supplies. The Kid Qwest hangar will provide hands-on aviation
related activities for children of all ages.
Local Experimental Aircraft Association chapters will be present
to provide free flights for kids ages 8-17 on Friday, as part of
the Young Eagles program designed to introduce young people to
aviation. Aircraft judging will be on Saturday with awards
presented at a dinner that evening.
Many exciting and interesting activities are planned for this
year's Golden West Fly-in and will be announced soon. People who
love flight will be "Flying Together" to Marysville this June.
