It appears the sun continues to shine on the solar and battery-powered, Solar Impulse 2, as it continues its around the world flight. Solar Impulse 2 has crossed into India, making a stop in Ahmedabad in Western India before continuing on to Varanasi on Wednesday.

In making the crossing from Muscat in Oman to Ahmedabad, the airplane with Bertrand Piccard at the controls set a distance world record for straight distance, pre-declared waypoints by travelling 912 miles. Boeing’s facility in the Palmetto State showed its pride as they delivered the first 787-9 Dreamliner assembled at its North Charleston production facility to United Airlines. The delivery comes shortly following the facility receiving its production certificate for this model of the Dreamliner earlier this month. This particular aircraft also happens to be the 250th Dreamliner to be delivered. GlobalJet NA, LLC of Scottsdale, AZ has had its certificate revoked for allegedly conducting unauthorized operations for compensation or hire in violation of the Federal Aviation Regulations. All this... and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
