Provides An Entry Point Into The Air Canada Network
Air Georgian's SOAR program for aviation career awareness, recruitment and retention continues to grow with the addition of Ornge to their operator partnerships. The partnership provides a career pathway for pilots at Ornge to become First Officers with Air Georgian and an entry point into the Air Canada network. After joining Air Georgian, pilots are guaranteed an interview with Air Canada through their Pilot Mobility Agreement (PMA).
"At Ornge, pilots gain valuable experience flying in diverse conditions and geography, while at the same time making a difference in their community," said Dr. Andrew McCallum, President & CEO, Ornge. "As many of our pilots seek advancement in their career, this partnership helps us better manage our pilot human resources, resulting in more reliability. It's a clear win for both organizations, and ultimately, the patients we serve."
Ornge enters SOAR through Air Georgian's ATAC member program which is open to all ATAC member airlines and flight schools. SOAR provides partnered operators and flight schools with predictable attrition while giving students and employees an entry point into the Air Canada system.
SOAR (Sharing Opportunities for Advancement and Reward) is comprised of three initiatives:
Raising awareness of careers in aviation for high school students
Working with flight schools and 703/704 operators to recruit pilots into Air Georgian, and;
Providing career fulfillment and advancement opportunities for all employees
Air Canada's Pilot Mobility Agreement (PMA)
All Air Georgian pilots are guaranteed an interview with Air Canada through the PMA. Once Air Georgian pilots meet minimum criteria, they are eligible to add their name to the Pilot Mobility List (PML) which guarantees them an interview with Air Canada. Air Canada has committed to hire 80% of their pilots through Air Georgian's PML and other Air Canada Express partners.
