Flight Design USA Delivers 45 Aircraft in 2005

Flight Design USA had a very good year, last year. As the distributor of the much-lauded CT light-sport aircraft, FD delivered 45 aircraft to customers in the United States during 2005, reportedly leading the LSA industry.

Tom Peghiny, president of Flight Design USA, added that an equal number of deliveries are currently scheduled for early 2006. Peghiny reported that, “We’re delivering aircraft at a pace of eight per month, and we anticipate increasing that number in coming months. Our manufacturer, Flight Design GmbH of Germany, is increasing its production capacity, and we’ve added a national sales and service network to increase sales and improve customer support.”

“Flight Design USA knows the importance of having a nationwide network of sales, service, and maintenance centers throughout the country,” Peghiny continued.

“Our sales success has been great; now it’s important for us to provide support to our customers. Flight Design GmbH anticipated our need to provide support to our customer and has provided extensive factory training for our personnel and our distributors.”

Peghiny has named Airtime Aviation, Tulsa, Oklahoma; Flight Design Central, Vienna, Ohio; Liberty Sport Aviation, York, Pennsylvania; Flight Design West, Carson City, Nevada; and Sebring Aviation, Sebring, Florida, as sales, service, and maintenance centers for the CT line of special light-sport aircraft (S-LSA). In Canada, CT owners may contact EWS Aviation & Business Services.

The all-composite, two-place CT features a 49-inch wide cockpit with side-by- side seating. It is powered by a 100-hp Rotax 912S engine and equipped with a BRS ballistic parachute as standard. With a top speed of 120 knots, the CT cruises at 112 knots and stalls at 39 knots.
