Bahrain International Airshow Cancels

One Of The World's More Influential Tradeshows Will Wait It Out

It should have been the Bahrain International Airshow's tenth year... but thanks to a worldwide pandemic, now, not so much. Held every two years, the show attracted nearly 55,000 visitors in 2018, along with some $5 billion worth of orders and other announced business deals.

It has become a prominent show... with leadership noting that, "Our show is at the heart of one of the world’s fastest-growing aerospace markets; demand for flight is insatiable with countries throughout the region vastly expanding their investment in the aviation industry. This, coupled with our location as the gateway to the Gulf, makes the Bahrain International Airshow a strategic event on the aerospace calendar."

Organizers posted the bad news publicly this week...

"Due to the ongoing challenges and travel restrictions around the world caused by the COVID 19 pandemic, the Supreme Organizing Committee of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) has taken the decision to cancel the 2020 show which was to be held from 18th to the 20th of November 2020.

Upon careful consideration of all factors and after consultation with our partners around the world, we believe this is in the best interest of all delegates, participants and partners, and we look forward to working together to come back stronger in 2022."
