New Technology To Provide Safe Transfer Of Data On Boeing 777X

New-Generation Secure Server Router Addresses Onboard Security Needs

Rockwell Collins has been selected by Boeing to provide the Avionics Gateway secure server on new 777X airplanes. The Avionics Gateway will feature the newest generation of Rockwell Collins’ proven Secure Server Router (SSR) that enables the safe transfer of data between the flight deck, cabin crew and airline operations on the ground.

“Next-generation aircraft will offer incredible on-board networking capabilities and aircraft makers like Boeing are investing in sophisticated, secure solutions to ensure the networks are protected from malicious threats,” said Greg Irmen, vice president and general manager, Flight Controls and Information Systems for Rockwell Collins. “Our SSR solution for the 777X Avionics Gateway, coupled with our progressive information management services strategy, will translate into noticeable benefits for airlines.”

This latest selection by Boeing adds to a comprehensive list of Rockwell Collins systems that will be present on the 777X, including the large-format flight displays, integrated surveillance with the award-winning MultiScan weather radar and select flight controls. Rockwell Collins’ Head-up Guidance System will also be an option for airlines—a first for 777 airplanes.
