ACSS Delivers 10,000th ADS-B Compliant NXT Mode S Transponder

Approaching FAA ADS-B Out Mandate Sees Surge of Orders

ACSS, an L3 and Thales company, announced today that it achieved a significant milestone, delivering the 10,000th production unit of its NXT Mode S Transponder family.

The impending FAA and EASA mandates requiring that all aircraft must be equipped with ADS-B Out by January 2020 and June 2020, respectively, have led to a significant uptick in orders and deliveries as operators and owners work to achieve these time frames. This milestone follows the delivery of ACSS’s 5,000th NXT unit in March 2018 since it first entered production in 2014.

"The industry has worked hard to put plans in place to meet the upcoming FAA and EASA deadlines," said Terry Flaishans, President of ACSS. "We’ve been working closely with operators and airlines for a number of years to fully prepare them for this change, and the delivery of our 10,000th unit is testament to this. However, there are a number of smaller carriers and business jet organizations that still need to complete the necessary planning. We strongly recommend that they conclude this shortly, with the mandate now a matter of months away."

The NXT-600/-700/-800 Mode S Transponder family provides commercial and military aircraft and helicopters the capabilities to operate in the Next-Generation Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) airspace per the mandate set out by the FAA, EASA and other regulatory bodies.
