Labor Trouble Coming For Mesaba Airlines?

Mesaba has published the following statment in anticipation of possible labor issues that could be taking place as you read this.

"We are continuing our negotiations with our pilots' union and remain committed to the goals of reaching agreement on a new contract and continuing operations. In order to focus our full attention on negotiations and our operations, we will have no further comment on the status of discussions or related matters.

"As a precaution, we have advised Northwest Airlines that we have pre-cancelled a small number of flights scheduled to operate this evening. Passengers holding tickets on Mesaba flights (Northwest Airlink flight numbers 2700-3699) scheduled to depart after 4 p.m. CST (5 p.m. EST) should call Northwest Airlines at 1-800-225-2525 to check the status of their flight and options for reaccommodation if necessary. On behalf of everyone at Mesaba, we apologize to our customers for any inconvenience they may experience as a result of this situation."
