One Fatally Injured In TX Accident

Aero Trike Safari Went Down With One Person On Board

A pilot was fatally injured Wednesday morning when the Aero Trike Safari he was flying went down in Littlefield, TX. The FAA was notified about the accident about 0915 local time, according to agency spokeswoman Elizabeth Cory.

The pilot involved in the accident has not been identified, and few other details about the accident are available. The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal reports that it is the second accident with fatalities in a year in the town. Last year, 79-year-old Eddie Hoglan and 13-year-old passenger Taylor Brown were fatally injured when a wing came off the sailplane they were flying.

The NTSB determined in that accident that adhesive holding the wing to the fuselage had deteriorated, contributing the separation and the accident.
