More Privacy -- Gone

TSA Doesn't Like First-Class Curtain

Since the Air Marshals always ride in First Class (to better protect the cockpit, they say), the end of one more shred of exclusivity, convenience, and privacy may soon be annhialated by the TSA.

TIME Magazine will report (in its March 10 edition) that "That annoying curtain separating first class from coach on most airplane flights may be facing its own final curtain. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA), which oversees aviation security, has told the airlines that it wants the barrier removed permanently..."

Although the Air Marshals sit up front and are supposed to be inconspicuous, they can't do their job of looking over their shoulders (and high-backed, wide chairs) if that curtain is in the way.

Morale? We don't need no stinking morale!

In the same article, the TSA denies rampant rumors that the Air Marshals' morale is low. Those rumors were inflamed even more, because the airlines may now ask the TSA's shooters to sit in the cheap seats once in a while, so the airlines can make a little money, and stay in business. The article quotes TSA spokesman Brian Turmail, who says the rumors of poor morale among the Air Marshals are "absolutely wrong;" however, the TSA won't let their (non-spokesman) employees talk with the press. For that matter, the TSA press office won't return our press calls, either.
