PSST! Hey Buddy. Want To Buy An Airplane Facility?

Cessna Drops Price On Hangars, Warehouse, In Bend, OR

It's a sign of the times, and while many are saying the economy is turning the corner, there are still a lot of vestiges of the economic downturn, particularly in the aviation business.

Cessna, for instance, has dropped the price on its 204,000 sq. ft. facility at Bend Municipal Airport in Bend, OR. The office spaces, hangars, and warehouses were part of a Cessna manufacturing plant which closed when the company pulled much of the work back to Kansas and shifted other functions to Mexico. The Bulletin of Bend, OR reports that the price has fallen from  $7 million to $5.975 million. The property is being managed by Colliers International.

Eric Strobel, business development manager of Economic Development for Central Oregon said finding aviation companies with that kind of money to invest in real estate is still difficult. Cessna also owns 14 acres of land which could be included in the deal should any potential buyer have expansion plans.
