The LadiesLoveTaildraggers Are Inviting Everyone To Join In At Their Texas Fly-In/Splash-In
Join the ladies of LadiesLoveTaildraggers for their annual fly-in June 3 through June 5. This year they are visiting the Lone Star State and will be converging on the Sulphur Springs Texas Airport (KSLR) for a fun taildraggin' 3-day weekend. True to their name, they will be celebrating aircraft with the tiny wheel on the back and the ladies who fly them. ALL women pilots and their guests, nose-wheel and tailwheel, are invited!
Anyone wanting to kick-start the fun may arrive Thursday, June 2 and take advantage of free camping & hot showers on the field. Motels are nearby with group rates available and transportation provided throughout the weekend between motels, downtown/restaurants and the airport. KSLR is home to Legend Cub who will be offering factory tours and demo rides to attendees. There will be hangar dinners each evening, Zumba with 'RV-8' Kelly, a special Plane Walk, evening wine tastings by local winery and more.
Fly-outs include lunch on Friday to Pelican's Landing Restaurant at 3T0. With a 3000' grass strip on the shore of Lake Texoma, Cedar Mills Airport is the perfect destination for a gaggle of taildraggers. Saturday's big event is a Poker Run to benefit the LadiesLoveTaildraggers Scholarship Fund. Departures begin at 10:00 a.m. with stops at 5 nearby airports and a BBQ lunch hosted by EAA Chapter 972 at Gladewater Municipal Airport.
Everyone is welcome but registration is required. Fly-in information and registration form can be found at the link below.
