Thoroughbred Aviation Opens New Helicopter Maintenance Facility

MD Helicopters Celebrates Alongside The Company, Showing Their Continued Support

MD Helicopters congratulates Thoroughbred Aviation Maintenance on its expansion at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Kentucky.

Thoroughbred is the largest aircraft maintenance provider in Kentucky, and they just opened a new 20,000 square-foot facility, which will be committed to expanding helicopter and fixed-wing maintenance.

Attending the event were Rocky Adkins, Senior Advisor to Governor Beshear, the Lexington Chamber of Commerce, and MD Helicopters Director of Customer Support Eric Kessler who presented Thoroughbred Aviation with a plaque.

“As an MD Helicopters Authorized Service Center, Thoroughbred Aviation Maintenance is a key player in our work to strengthen and expand support for our customers,” Kessler says. “Thoroughbred Aviation has a long history of maintenance excellence and does a tremendous job of providing high quality, reliable service for MD owners and operators. Paired with MD’s boosted customer support and spares in stock, Thoroughbred’s new facility will enhance the overall customer experience.”

Included in the new space will be a parts storage, hangar space, and office facilities. The new space represents the expansion and consolidation of the existing facility by combining helicopter operations from the Georgetown facility.

“As an Authorized MD Helicopters Service Center for over 33 years, their product line is a large part of our customer base and we truly appreciate their support and participation in our ceremony,” stated Vice President and Owner, Joe Otte. “We look forward to continuing our relationship with MD and to help our customers experience an increase in service and reduced down times.”
