Victims Identified In Oklahoma A-36 Downing

Officials Say Pilot Attempted Emergency Landing

Investigators combing through the wreckage of a Beechcraft A-36 Bonanza that crashed Wednesday afternoon near Glenpool, OK have identified the five persons killed in that accident.

Former state lawmaker Bill Wiseman was at the controls of the Bonanza when it went down shortly after takeoff from Richard Lloyd Jones Jr. Airport (RVS). Officials tell the Associated Press it appears Wiseman may have attempted to turn back for an emergency landing, possibly due to engine trouble, when the plane impacted an empty field in the Tulsa suburb.

Despite the presence of severe thunderstorms in the vicinity at the time, NTSB Regional Director Hector Casanova told reporters it is not likely weather played a significant role in the accident.

Tulsa lawyer Bill Lunn said the others onboard the accident plane were Rhonda Lunn, his ex-wife; his 16-year-old daughter, Kathryn Lunn; and his 14-year-old twins, Michael and Adrienne Lunn.

The aircraft departed RVS at 1400 local time Wednesday, on an IFR flight plan to Sugar Land, TX. The accident occurred about 10 minutes later.
