Look Up, Wichita! Here Comes The A380

Say, That's No Cessna!

Look, up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a whale! No, it's the Airbus A380, soon to make a low pass over Intercontinental Airport (KICT) in Wichita.

The world's biggest passenger aircraft will fly over the airport Thursday morning, giving the media, local folks and yes, the people at Cessna, Beechcraft and other general aviation manufacturers, a look at what Airbus hopes is the future of aviation.

It's also a morale booster for Airbus North American Engineering, the arm of the company responsible for making the A380's wing components.

The "whale jet" is expected over KICT at 0740 CDT Thursday morning.
