New Unit Optimized for Next-Gen Cockpits
Honeywell Aerospace announced that it is launching a new KX 200 navigation and communications system designed to meet the needs of pilots operating next-generation cockpits.
An easy-installation upgrade for Honeywell’s KX 155 and KX 165 systems, the KX 200 is compatible with 14-volt and 28-volt systems. Moreover, the new system offers 25khz or 8.33khz frequencies, thereby ensuring its usefulness to European pilots.
Compatible with existing indicators and installed BendixKing equipment, Honeywell’s new KX 200 is a fully-digital navigation and communications solution featuring an intuitive, high-resolution color LCD display and a fifty-channel memory preset function. For future-proofing purposes, the KX 200 has been designed to integrate into Honeywell’s new Anthem cockpit.
Honeywell Aerospace vice-president of integrated avionics Andrew Barker stated: “We redesigned the new KX 200 with ease of installation in mind. The upgrade requires minimal or no aircraft downtime. Operators and owners of this new system will not have to worry about changing their navigation and communications systems if they decide to upgrade their existing cockpits.”
Honeywell intends to bring the KX 200 to market in 2023’s fourth quarter.
Founded in 1936 and headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Honeywell Aerospace is a manufacturer of aero-engines, turbochargers, avionics, Auxiliary Power Units (APUs), aircraft windshields, and additional products germane to the aviation industry. A division of the Honeywell international conglomerate, Honeywell Aerospace generates approximately $10-billion in annual revenue.
Honeywell Aerospace invites EAA AirVenture 2023 attendees to visit the company’s displays at booths #289-292 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin—where the KX 200 system will be showcased.
