Airborne at NBAA--10.20.14: HondaJet, Honeywell Forecast, Gulfstream's G500/G600

At a news conference early Monday at the 2014 NBAA convention, HondaJet said that it is months away from first deliveries of the new airplane.

After the news conference, ANN Editor in Chief Jim Campbell talked with HondaJet CEO Michimasa Fujino about getting the airplane into the hands of customers. Among the most innovative features of the new Gulfstream jets is their fly-by-wire system includes an Active Control Sidestick. Gulfstream says the ACS system offers enhanced safety and situational awareness over passive sticks through tactile feedback. With electronic linking of the ACSs, the pilot and co-pilot can see and feel each other’s control inputs, which helps improve pilot coordination in the cockpit.
