Fort Hood Soldiers Arrested For Aircraft Theft

Quicksilver LSA Damaged In Crash Landing

Police in Killeen, TX say they have in custody two men responsible for an early morning plane crash earlier this week.

News-8 Austin reports two 18-year-old soldiers from nearby Fort Hood have been charged with unauthorizred use of a motor vehicle... which is a fancy legal term for "stealing."

As ANN reported, police asked the public for CrimeStoppers tips after someone commandered a Quicksilver MX-II from Skylark Field (ILE) early Monday morning, then proceeded to crash it into some mailboxes in a nearby residential area.

Witnesses told officers they saw two men running from the scene. The plane will need several thousand dollars in repairs.
