JSSI Takes President Obama To Task For Attacking Business Aviation

1.2 Million Jobs Threatened By Attacks On Industry

Business aviation support and financial services provider JSSI has added its voice to those critical of President Barack Obama's attack on business aviation during Wednesday night's Presidential debate in Denver.

"President Obama clearly does not understand the full economic impact that the business aviation industry has on the broader U.S. economy," said JSSI Chairman Lou Seno (pictured) in a written statement. "These tools of commerce are not toys for the rich; rather, they are vital assets that allow small- and mid-sized businesses to sell both domestically and globally. Moreover, business aviation is one of the few bright spots in both domestic manufacturing and our export economy, contributing to $150 billion in the industry's overall economic impact. It's an industry that supports 1.2 million American jobs, and President Obama's decision to demonize it last night jeopardizes those jobs.

"President Obama's lack of appreciation for business aviation clearly indicates that he does not understand how business is conducted, both in the U.S. and around the world," he continued. "Business aviation is the grease that allows a tremendous amount of business to operate smoothly, and by demagoguing it, the President is attacking some of America's best-known global brands such as Gulfstream, Cessna and Hawker Beechcraft. "If the President is as committed to growing the American economy as he claims, it is time to stop attacking business aviation and time to start supporting a growing industry that is vital to our future,"  Seno concluded.
