Famed Physicist Taken To Hospital By Ambulance
ANN has regrettably learned that famed physicist, author, and
Zero-G flyer, Stephen Hawking has been rushed to the hospital after
his medical condition worsened.
Hawking is a professor at Cambridge University, where spokesmen
state that Hawking was removed to the hospital by ambulance.
Cambridge is quoted in general media reports as saying, "Professor
Hawking is very ill and has been taken by ambulance to Addenbrookes
Hospital in Cambridge."
The 67 year old hawking is world renowned for his studies and
teachings on physics, and is most widely associated with his book,
'A Brief History of Time.' Wheelchair bound for decades, Hawking
suffers from ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease, more formally known as
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), an illness which usually kills
within a few years of diagnosis. Hawking was diagnosed over 40
years ago.
Despite near-complete paralysis caused by the aforementioned
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Hawking is a visionary
and already a veteran of Zero-G flight.
ANN readers will remember our exclusive pictures and
coverage from Hawking's momentous flights with the Zero-G
Corporation. He hopes to continue leading by example,
scheduling passage on the maiden flight of Virgin Galactic's
suborbital space tours, set to start operation in a few years.
Hawking's Zero-G adventure was inspired by curiousity, "As
someone who has studied gravity and black holes all of my life, I
am excited to experience first hand weightlessness and a
zero-gravity environment," Hawking said.
ANN will monitor this story closely and report any changes... we
wish the Professor, as well as his friends and family all the
best.
