Virginia Regional EAA Fly-In and Air Show Coming Up This Weekend

New Light Sport and Hundreds More Aircraft Will Be There

At least eight Light Sport aircraft manufacturers will be new at the Ninth Annual  Virginia Regional EAA Fly-In scheduled for October 1-2 at the Dinwiddie County Airport (PTB). Twelve other aircraft manufacturers will also be there. If the weather cooperates the Regional Fly-In should break our 630 plane record for the weekend.

Admission is a $10 requested donation for 14 years and older. Children 13 and under are free and parking is free. Under-the-Wing camping is free; RV camping a $10 per night donation. As of mid-September, the Fly-in includes:

  • Nineteen Forums covering the new Sport Pilot certificate and other subjects.
  • Two Workshops: Tube & Fabric Construction and Sheet Metal Construction
  • A Youth Tent which will offer hands-on activities for kids.
  • A Control Line Model Airplane circle where budding pilots can try their hand at flying model airplanes.
  • Over 70 Vendors/Exhibitors displaying their wares. Various aviation companies will be selling parts and accessories, including for the first time, Aircraft Spruce.

  • A two-hour crowd pleasing Air Show beginning at 1300. Airport closed by NOTAM.
  • A classic Pancake Breakfast in the main hangar at 0800 to 1100. Later in the day other vendors will be offering a wide variety of food
  • Aircraft Judging. Pick up a Prop Card at Aircraft Registration.
