Horizon Flight Attendants Reach Tentative Agreement On New Contract Terms

Details Will Be Sent To Rank And File Workers For Consideration

Horizon Air Flight Attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), announced a tentative agreement with management today that includes increased compensation, a new scheduling system and substantial improvements in flexibility and quality of life for the over 500 flight attendants.  Horizon Air is a wholly owned subsidiary of Alaska Air Group and offers service to over 45 cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

"This agreement reflects the crucial role we have in the overall success of our airline and addresses the issues identified as most important by flight attendants," said Lexie Graham, acting AFA President at Horizon Air. "Horizon Air flight attendants have been active throughout this process, sending a strong, unified message to management that we are focused on the future of the airline and fully expect a contract that reflects the contributions we make each and every day."

The proposed contract includes pay raises, quality of life improvements and more flexible scheduling. The current contract was ratified on Dec. 21, 2009 and became amendable on Dec. 21, 2011. Details of the agreement will now be sent to Flight Attendants for consideration. Voting on the agreement will begin June 24 and conclude July 18, 2013.
