7th Successful Safety Evaluation Sets Bar for Charter Operators
Flexjet announced its successful passage of the Air Charter Safety Foundation's IAS audit, their 7th victory in all.
The company was the first to pass the then-new Industry Audit Standard in 2009, and since then has maintained a successful standing throughout 7 straight audits. Flexjet has continued to combat even the slimmest vestige of customer stress surrounding charter flight safety, bolstering its Safety Management System with outside assistance from GE's Insight software and industry know-how. The software allows Flexjet to plan for maintenance before a breakdown even begins to take place.
The Air Charter Safety Foundation's audit standard is designed to provide operators with a full, comprehensive look at every aspect of their safety systems, touching on everything from procedures, operations, training, and even company culture to provide Part 135 and Part 91 operators a tool to grade their effort. Flexjet's passage of their latest audit also includes the recent changes in standards that added compliance with the FAA's SMS voluntary implementation program and ICAO Annex 19 safety management.
“Flexjet’s safety culture is present in everything we do, and this audit is among the accolades that confirm our commitment to providing the safest transportation for our aircraft Owners as well as our employees,” said Flexjet CEO Michael Silvestro. “We are proud to lead the industry in seeking and achieving the highest standards of safety and compliance as well as maintenance excellence.”
President Bryan Burns echoed Silvestro’s enthusiasm for Flexjet’s accomplishment. “Flexjet is truly a premier, elite operator,” he said. “They maintain the world’s highest standards for safety and security by actively participating in SMS, ASAP and FDM. Through the years, our criteria for the IAS registry have become far more rigorous, making Flexjet’s commitment to its auditing standards that much more impressive.”
