Space Mobility Conference Set for Jan 24th

Collaboration, Mobility, And Access the Focus of this Year’s Summit

SpaceCom, the US Space Force (USSF), and Space Systems Command (SSC) have announced the 2nd annual Space Mobility Conference.

The conference will aim to "to extend SSC’s Assured Access to Space mission" with wide ranging cooperation and collaboration across governmental, industrial, and academic lines. It will be held during Commercial Space Week, opening on January 30th, 2024. The locale will also be home to the Global Spaceport Alliance Summit, and SpaceCom/Space Congress, both held at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida. Topics for the USSF conference will largely hone in on their 'Mobility' and 'Assured Access to Space' missions - basically the fundamental issues of being able to get into space to begin with. Recent geopolitical events have damaged the smooth running machine of international spacefaring, leaving the US to stand more alone than ever as it looks to develop domestic heavy-lift capabilities.

“We must continue to innovate and accelerate in order to achieve our objectives in, from and to space,” said Brig. Gen. Kristin Panzenhagen, the program executive officer for Assured Access to Space, director of Launch and Range Operations for SSC, commander of Space Launch Delta 45, and director of Eastern Range. “Space Mobility requires resilient and responsive launch systems, space-based capabilities that enable our national security satellites to maneuver without regret, and robust and secure ground-based infrastructure.”

"We’re extremely proud to host the Space Mobility Conference again,” said Ryan Brown, executive director of SpaceCom. “Our inaugural conference was a great success that brought broad, highly talented and thoughtful representation from the best that our government, industry, and academia have to offer. This coming year, we’re going to build upon that foundation and move the ball downfield even further. Together with Space Force and Space Systems Command, we’re ensuring that everyone with a role or interest in this critical field has a chance to contribute and shape the way ahead. We’ll see you there!”
