Classic Aero-TV: EAA’s Eric Fatla - One A&P’s Journey Begins

From 2014 (YouTube Version): This Is How A Great Life Gets Its Start... Enjoy!

While at EAA AirVenture 2014, Special Aero-News Correspondent, Michael Maya Charles, got a little off the beaten track and visited the Kermit Weeks hangar located on the north side of Wittman Regional Airport.

While not actually part of the AirVenture exposition, Charles found a story that bodes well for the future of general aviation.

Charles was lucky enough to be there at a time when he could meet a young man by the name of Eric Fatla. Eric is the kind of guy that works behind the scenes, but without him the scenes couldn’t take place. At only 24 years old, Eric is a pilot and an A&P mechanic who loves to specialize in things electronic. However, he’s also in love with the old airplanes with round engines.

Eric tells us the story of his interest in aviation and how he put that interest to work. His step-by-step progress is still in motion as he continues his education. Eric’s story is one that should be heard by any young person interested in what aviation has to offer.

Watching this video will restore your faith in our younger generation of today and provide an inspiration for someone that’s looking for a way to go in aviation but doesn’t know how to get started.
