LOT 767 Makes Gear-Up Landing In Poland

All 230 People On Board The Airplane Survive

There is some spectacular video making the rounds on the Internet Tuesday of a LOT 767 making a gear-up landing in Warsaw, Poland. All 230 people on board the airliner were evacuated with no injuries.

Details are fairly sketchy, but Fox News reports that the pilot circled the airport for an hour when the gear failed to deploy. The video shows what appears to be a very normal landing ... except for the lack of an undercarriage supporting the airplane.

The aircraft reportedly caught fire after the landing, but emergency crews worked quickly to extinguish the flames, and all 230 people on board were reported to have survived the incident.

Former FAA spokesperson Scott Brenner watched the video with a Fox News reporter. He compared the Polish pilot to Captain Chesley Sullenberger. "We could not have asked for a more picture-perfect landing," he said.
