Here we go again... Suffolk County, NY Police have arrested a man for shooting a drone out of the air in Saint James Saturday.
Members of Missing Angels-Long Island, an organization that searches for missing pets, were using a Mavic 2 Zoom drone to search for a missing dog when the drone they were using became unresponsive at approximately 4:45 p.m. The group used the drone’s GPS to determine the drone was last near 18 Rutherford St. in St. James. Following an investigation by Fourth Squad detectives, it was determined a resident of the home, Gerard Chasteen, fired three shotgun shots into the air from the yard of his home, striking the drone. Multiple shotguns were confiscated from the residence. The first private lunar lander has been launched on its mission to the Moon. "Beresheet", a spacecraft created by the non-profit group SpaceIL and a previous finalist for the Google Lunar XPrize, was boosted into space Friday by SpaceX atop a Falcon 9 rocket. It if successfully reaches the moon, Israel will join a small group of nations that has successfully landed a spacecraft on the moon; the United States, China and the
former Soviet Union. At nearly the same time that GAMA was announcing 2018 aircraft sales stats, the Aircraft Electronics Association released its 2018 year-end Avionics Market Report, and again it was good news! Worldwide business and general aviation avionics sales for 2018 amounted to $2,728,657,109, or more than $2.7 billion as reported by the participating companies.
