Zero-G 727 Makes Second Precautionary Landing In As Many Months

Airplane Set Down In Vero Beach, FL After Reporting Engine Trouble

The Boeing 727 operated by Zero-G has made a second precautionary landing in as many months ... this time at Vero Beach Municipal Airport on the central Florida coast Thursday afternoon.

The Vero News reports that the airplane reported engine problems, and the pilot declared an emergency. The plane landed at the airport south of Cape Canaveral, which has a 7,314-foot runway, and was parked on the east side of the airport.

The flight had departed from Orlando and was enroute to Fort Lauderdale in Florida when the incident occurred, according to LiveATC.net. There were no injuries.

This is the second time in two months that Zero-G has made an emergency landing due to reported engine problems. In September, the plane landed at Jacksonville International Airport while undergoing a proving flight.

Zero-G has suffered from several financial and legal difficulties over the past few years.

The company last month celebrated 10 years of providing parabolic flights allowing its passengers to experience weightlessness aboard the 727, known as G-FORCE ONE.
