Open House Set For November 30
The National Instrument Proficiency Academy (NIPA) plans to
launch its new concept in flight training 0n Tuesday, November 30th
at Norwood Airport (KOWD) in Massachusetts. NIPA is a flight school
run by flight instructors and focused on pilot proficiency
training.
The Grand Opening will be at hangar 10 from 0900-1900 EST. NIPA
plans on supplying food as well as opportunities to fly in their
Cirrus SR20 and test fly their new full motion simulator. Cessna
plans to have their Skycatcher on display from the hours of
1000-1600 EST that day. The new 162 Skycatcher brings the latest
technology to the light sport or “starter plane”
market.
NIPA is currently offering workshops at KOWD. These workshops
are designed to educate pilots after their initial training. Topics
include advanced training in weather, communications and flying
instrument approaches. Those workshops will also be available for
purchase on the web.
As a flight school focused on safety, NIPA’s goal is to
increase pilot confidence and proficiency. It was established as a
resource for instrument rated pilots and students pursuing their
Instrument Rating as well as pilots who would simply like to fly
better and safer in VFR conditions. Too often pilots complete their
training and then become distracted and disengaged from the flying
community. The result is a dangerous lack of proficiency and the
loss of support from the flying community as a whole. NIPA hopes to
help mitigate this issue by providing a means of reconnecting
pilots and instructors and supplying them with recurrent training,
and is committed to coaching, training and mentoring pilots to help
them fly safely in actual instrument meteorological conditions.
