Handshake Ceremony Held At MAKS 2013
AgustaWestland has signed a Service Center Agreement with UTair Aviation of Russia during an official ceremony held at MAKS 2013 today. Under the agreement UTair will act as an authorized service station, providing a comprehensive range of support and maintenance services as well as an extensive spare parts inventory for AW139 twin engine helicopters in Russia.
UTair is already a certified AW139 helicopter operator with ten aircraft currently in service to perform passenger, corporate and VVIP transport missions in Russia. Aircraft are deployed and operated from bases in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Sochi and from additional bases in Siberia. The program foresees qualification of approximately 60 pilots and 40 technicians to fly and maintain the AW139.
Daniele Romiti, Chief Executive Officer, AgustaWestland said “It gives us great pleasure to appoint Russia’s leading player in aircraft operations and one of the biggest global helicopter operators as an authorized service center for the … AW139. This agreement demonstrates our commitment to providing ever increasing levels of services to customers across the nation. We look forward to further expanding our cooperation with UTair in the future.”
"Putting into operation 10 helicopters of a new type in a short time required a lot of work to prepare the flight crews and operating personnel, infrastructure and maintenance facilities. Establishment of a joint service center is a positive step, indicating our big plans for operation of AW139 helicopters. The success of this work has once again demonstrated the professionalism and capabilities of UTair as an operator of various types of helicopters," said Faradzhaev Rashid Guseinovich, CEO of UTair-Engineering OJSC.
