St Anthony Village (MN) Mayor Killed In C172 Crash

Wreckage found in Webster (WI), pilot was sole occupant, no ground injuries

Randy Hodson, mayor of St Anthony Village (MN), has died after the Cessna 172 he was flying crashed near the town of Webster (WI). There were no passengers on the aircraft, and the debris field was scattered over a 200 foot area.

Hodson was a two-term mayor of the city whose second four-year term was to run until 2007. He was well-liked in the community, and was described as a cheerleader for the city. Hodson was owner of an aircraft business as well as a resort.

"He wasn't intimidating, in fact he was actually a big teddy bear," said City Manager Mike Mornson said to the Associated Press. "He was a consensus builder with various groups - brought various groups together in order to get things accomplished."
