Sikorsky Signs First Deposit Agreements For S-434 Helicopter

Rebranded Schweizer Intro'd At Last Year's Heli-Expo

Sikorsky Global Helicopters, the newly re-branded commercial programs subsidiary of Sikorsky Aircraft, celebrated at Heli-Expo 2009 this week the first deposit agreements on its newest product, the S-434 helicopter.

Sikorsky has seven confirmed customer deposit agreements for aircraft deliveries, valued in excess of $8 million if converted to delivery contracts. The S-434 is an upgraded version of the Schweizer S-333 helicopter, incorporating many of the design and performance technologies developed on the Fire Scout VTUAV (Vertical Takeoff Unmanned Aerial Vehicle).

"This early interest and customer commitment to the S-434 helicopter reflects both the superior customer service offered by Sikorsky Global Helicopters, as well as the performance enhancements offered by the S-434 configuration," said David Horton, General Manager of Sikorsky Global Helicopters Light Helicopter Division, based in Horseheads, NY.

Unveiled at last year's Heli-Expo, the S-434 introduces a four-bladed rotor system, increased power and a larger fuel tank to the basic S-333 design. Sikorsky Global notes S-333s operate throughout the world in many missions including law enforcement patrol, commercial and military flight training, power line/pipeline patrol, personal use and lift operations.
