Arizona Sheriffs Department Selects Becker Digital Airborne ICS For New AS350 B3

Pima County Will Install Audio Panel In New Multi-Mission Helo

The Pima County Sheriffs Department (PCSD) of Tucson, Arizona has selected Becker Avionics' DVCS6100 digital airborne audio control panel system for its new AS350 B3e multi-mission helicopter.

The aircraft was delivered in mid-March during a ceremony at American Eurocopter’s Grand Prairie TX Delivery Center. During the next few months the aircraft will be outfitted with a law enforcement completion package at Hanger One Avionics at the McClellan Palomar Airport near San Diego. The new AS350 B3e aircraft will be the first one used by a law enforcement agency in the United States. The aircraft joins an HT295 and an H800 in Pima County's helicopter fleet. The Air Unit also has a single-engine Cessna Centurion T210N and a twin-engine Cessna 310R that are used for extradition and prisoner transport.

The Becker DVCS6100 was chosen by their Air Unit due to its unique ability to effectively manage and control all audio sources in the aircraft. Becker’s Digital multi-channel audio and intercom system, with its software configurable profiles, provides the flexibility to specifically customize the system to meet the demanding operational requirements of airborne Law Enforcement organizations.

"Once again, we’re excited that another airborne law enforcement agency selected our DVCS6100 product for their new AS350 B3e helicopter," said Becker's Brett Gardner. "Pima County is joining the growing number of airborne law enforcement agencies that have selected the DVCS6100 for their demanding mission profiles. In the past 12 months LA County Sheriff, Houston PD, Fairfax County, Broward County Sheriff, Westchester County PD, and Charlotte-Mecklenburg PD have all selected the DVCS6100 as their airborne digital audio management system as a new installation or retrofit to existing aircraft.”
