New Program Allows King Air Recurrent Pilots To Get ATP Rating
With One Extra Day
FlyRight tells ANN that they have
received FAA certification for their ATP rating add-on course --
conducted in conjunction with its full-motion simulator based King
Air recurrent courses. Previously only available to pilots enrolled
in their King Air initial training programs, the company is now
able to offer their add-on ATP course to pilots enrolled in their
FAA and insurance approved recurrent training programs.
The Recurrent + ATP course adds one day of training and checking
to FlyRight’s standard 2½ day recurrent course. The
program includes an additional day of training and checking, and is
accomplished entirely simulator-based using FlyRight’s
full-motion King Air simulator. The Recurrent + ATP program caps
three days of recurrent training with a check-ride with
FlyRight’s in-house Training Center Examiner and a
Line-Oriented Flight.
FlyRight explains that they developed the Recurrent + ATP in
response to customer requests for a shorter and more efficient ATP
rating program for experienced King Air operators. Jim Crawford,
FlyRight’s Director of Operations, commented “The
Recurrent + ATP was tailored for experienced King Air pilots who
have always wanted an ATP rating but who couldn’t find the
time to get the rating. This program - adding only a single day to
their normal recurrent training - is an incredibly efficient way to
earn the ATP rating. Our experienced King Air instructor-pilots are
all ATP rated, and they know what it takes to train a pilot for the
most exclusive pilot rating available.”
Pilots wishing to take ATP course need to have passed the ATP
written within the past 24 months, and be experienced King Air
pilots. After completing FlyRight’s Recurrent + ATP course
pilots will receive the ATP rating and FAA sign-offs for 61.56
Flight Review, 61.57 (d) Instrument Proficiency Check, and also
satisfy night landing and instrument recency requirements.
