JetBlue Joins with FAPA for Ft. Lauderdale Job Fair

250TT Commercial Pilots Invited to Rub Elbows with 20+ Employers

JetBlue has announced its newest endeavor to farm fresh pilot candidates, with a a job fair hosted in conjunction with consultant Future & Active Pilot Advisors (FAPA).

The FAPA Job Fair will feature JetBlue in addition to 20 more pilot employers , bringing professionals from around the industry to descend upon the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). The Fair is exclusively aimed at pilots with at least 250 hours of total time or a commercial certificate (or within 3 months of attaining one), allowing low time pilots a chance to rub elbows and build connections early in their careers. The fair is limited to registered attendees, with JetBlue's recruiting team offering resume reviews and advice for job-hunters. ATP holders should register separately, undoubtedly to receive some extra attention from JetBlue's hiring personnel.

“Talent acquisition professionals in our industry understand the value and effectiveness of recruiting events based on merits and accomplishments," said Louis Smith, president and CEO of FAPA. "With our last two pilot events drawing more than 300 job-hunting pilots, FAPA and its partners continue to catch the attention of airlines, charter, and business aviation carriers and those seeking direction for a professional career in the flight deck. Looking ahead, although the anticipated recession may impact pilot demand in 2023 and beyond, there are other factors, such as the departure of senior pilots due to age restrictions, which will mitigate the impact."

“JetBlue is proud and excited to continue our partnership with FAPA as we seek dedicated and professional pilots to join our growing airline. It’s a great time to join JetBlue – we’re not only hiring new pilots, but we’re also adding new routes, aircraft and opportunities. We look forward to meeting candidates in Dania Beach this weekend as FAPA’s featured sponsor,” said Chris Lum, chief pilot for JetBlue.

The FAPA job fair will be held on November 19th, from 0800-1200 local time at Le Méridien Dania Beach at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Attendees must register via the FAPA Job Fair, and are encouraged to "bring plenty of resumes, along with one for FAPA, upon admission." For PPL's under 250 hours total time, FAPA will hold a forum at 1400 hrs in the same location.
