Woman Partially Blinded On International Flight Suing

Another Passenger Was Exercising In The Aisle

A 74-year-old woman on a flight from Hong Kong to Vancouver was struck in the eye by a fellow passenger exercising in the aisle, and after 4 surgeries she is still blind in her right eye.

Rosalie Williams was returning home to New York when the incident happened. The other passenger had been "exercising" in the darkened aircraft aisle for some time on the March 14th Air Canada flight, according to The New York Post. Several other passengers had reportedly complained to the aircraft crew, but he was still at it when he inadvertently struck Ms. Williams in the eye, dislocating it from the socket. She is now suing in Queens Supreme Court in New York for an undisclosed sum.

When contacted, Air Canada said they were "aware of this unfortunate event," but made no further comment.
