Pemco To Build 737-400 Cargo And Combis

Makes Deal with Alaska Airlines

Pemco Aviation Group, Inc. announced Tuesday that Alaska Airlines has contracted with its Dothan, Alabama subsidiary, Pemco World Air Services, for a first-ever conversion of B737-400 aircraft from passenger to freighter and passenger to combi configurations. The deal covers seven airplanes, including five firm conversion orders and two options. The aircraft will be converted in Dothan, Alabama and delivered in 2006 and 2007.

"Pemco's experience and track record converting other 737 models made them the right choice for this order, which will help expand and enhance our cargo capability," said Ben Minicucci, staff vice president of maintenance for Alaska Airlines.

"Pemco's strength lies in the fact that we know what our customers want and we are continually expanding our products to meet the customers' requirements. Our efforts and dedication have paid off in the expansion of our B-737 conversion program," explained Ron Aramini, President and Chief Executive Office of Pemco Aviation Group.

Pemco has enhanced its conversion process and given the company global visibility. Pemco is building on that visibility and international presence by working closely with new strategic partners throughout the world.

Over the last three decades, Pemco has continually posted new milestones and accomplishments, to include holding the only B737-300 passenger to freighter aircraft modification approved by the Civil Airworthiness Authority of China.

Ray Bennett, president of Pemco World Air Services, explained that Pemco's experience makes the difference to its customers and he believes that the company will build upon the excellence established with the B 737-300 program.

"With an increased demand for turnkey operations, our customers are looking at Pemco's experience, reliability and quality," said Bennett. "We know that Pemco's airframe maintenance and modification team is outstanding. Our conversion program is strong and our customers are pleased."
