Tiger Aircraft Cleared For Take-Off In China

Tiger Aircraft LLC has announced the successful completion of the Chinese government’s Validation of Type Certificate (VTC) for the company’s AG-5B aircraft.

“After almost three years and numerous reviews of the technical data used in the FAA certification of the Tiger, we received notification of the VTC issuance on July 8th,” explained Gene Criss, President of Tiger Aircraft.

“This clears the way for Tiger to enter the Chinese general aviation market and opens a world of opportunity for us in an expanding marketplace.”

Several engineers from the CAAC (China’s equivalent to the FAA) visited the Tiger manufacturing facility in Martinsburg, WV last November, reviewed the aircraft’s test data and performed verification testing.

The result of their positive review and issuance of the VTC means Tiger aircraft can now be sold in China without restriction.

“In the coming years, China will become the foremost market in the world – as airspace opens up and general and commercial aviation expands rapidly,” explained Mr. Criss.

“We are currently working with private entities in China to establish a distribution network. We expect pilot training in China to be huge and Tiger plans to be in the forefront of it.”

Tiger Aircraft LLC was formed to revive, enhance, and build one of the most celebrated airplane designs in general aviation history—the Tiger. Today’s Tigers are built in a new manufacturing facility in Martinsburg, WV, constructed especially to build the planes.
