Focus On Security, VLJs
The National Air Transportation
Association’s (NATA) 2005 Annual Meeting and Convention will
take place March 8-10 in Las Vegas, NV, in conjunction with the
Aviation Industry Week trade show.
“Experts on business management, safety and security, and
federal government executives will highlight some of the hottest
issues facing our industry at this year’s Convention,”
said NATA president James K. Coyne.
The convention program will include sessions on:
- Airport Takeovers – Can FBOs Still Profit?
- Annual Washington Update and Roundtable with Senior Federal
Regulators
- The Changing Role of Brokers in Air Charter
- How Private Equity Funds View the FBO Industry
On Tuesday, March 8th, at the
Opening General Session, Robert Crandall, Chairman of the Board,
and Don Burr, Chief Executive Officer of Pogo Jet, will discuss the
future of new, very light jets as point-to-point air taxi
services.
On Wednesday, March 9th, Transportation Security Administration
head, Admiral David Stone (right), will make his first appearance
at an NATA annual convention. Stone will discuss many of the
security issues affecting America’s aviation businesses,
including the latest activities for Twelve-Five Standard Security
Program operators, security measures for alien flight students,
Part 145 repair stations, general aviation airports and fixed base
operators, and on-going measures to improve air cargo
security.
The NATA Industry Excellence Award winners also will be recognized
at the Tuesday Opening General Session.
A session dedicated to the new NATA Safety 1st Management System
will describe new policies, procedures, training and measurement of
company-wide safety programs offered by the association.
