Sun 'n Fun Aerospace Expo Will Take Place As Scheduled

Offers Recommendations To Visitors To Stay Healthy During The Event

Sun 'n Fun will proceed with the 46th Annual Aerospace Expo as planned, March 31 – April 5th, at the Lakeland Linder International Airport in Lakeland, FL.

As the primary fundraiser for the Aerospace Center for Excellence, we remain dedicated to creating limitless opportunities for today’s youth but are also committed to public health and safety.

Sun 'n Fun is in constant communication with medical professionals, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and government agencies to coordinate and plan for a safe event with appropriate precautions in place. We are also closely monitoring the activities of other festivals and outdoor events in the area, as well as the major theme parks to keep informed on their responses to the situation. Organizers of the event are taking the following actions to ensure the highest standards of health and safety for our attendees, staff, and volunteers:

  • Increased provision of disinfectant wipe downs and spray in common areas and activity spaces.
  • Additional hand sanitizer for restrooms
  • Outreach to all meeting spaces, venues, and hotels
  • Providing updated best-practice health training for over 3500 volunteers
  • Dedicated response teams will be standing by to quickly clean up spills, trash and other potential health hazards.
  • Regular deep sanitizing of restrooms and food prep areas will be performed.

We encourage attendees to continue to plan to attend the convention if they feel well. However, we do ask all attendees to monitor their condition prior to travel, as well as review the CDC travel guidelines. Everyone should continue to practice every day preventative actions and consider an alternative to a handshake greeting. We also encourage all to become familiar with the CDC’s suggested health precautions, which include:

  • Washing your hands for 20 seconds and using alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
  • When coughing and sneezing, cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – discard tissue immediately into a closed bin.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Bring personal hand sanitizer and wipes with you to all public places.
  • Stay home if you have a fever or feel unwell.
