Public Invited for Race, Demos at Buena Vista Drone Spot
The Central Colorado UAS Club has announced the 9th Roundup conference set for October 17 at the Buena Vista Drone Flying Park (DFP), open to the public and completely free. Demonstrations of many different drones will include club partners Wingtra, the Multicopter Warehouse, Chaffee County Search & Rescue teams, and more to come.
The park will also host its first sanctioned MultiGP drone race, presented by Full Send FPV in Denver. Weather permitting, demonstrations are planned to begin at noon and continue to 15:00, with special announcements and presentations planned for 14:00 hrs.
Registration for the October 18 Fall Roundup event will close this week. The conference will take place at Mount Princeton Hot Springs Resort to “feature three different panels of industry experts” according to Club President Taylor Albrecht. “These include experts in regulation and law, beyond visual-line-of-sight operation, and emerging technologies.” Keynote speaker will be Rick Moen with the Chaffee County Search & Rescue North team, which used its drones to successfully conduct a search to rescue a stranded hiker in difficult night conditions near the Chalk Cliffs.
The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade will be the title sponsor of the event, with leader Jay Lindell to give attendants an update on recent industry developments in aerospace state-wide. Other speakers and panelists include Vic Moss, Denver area drone photographer and a national leader of the Drone Service Providers Alliance; Dawn Zoldi, attorney and social media personality, whose podcasts and broadcasts on unmanned aerial systems include a nationwide following.
